Where
did it all Begin?
It
was nearing the end of a very long and strenuous day. He was physically
spent from all the prying, digging, and crevasing in search of
ore samples. Dave was sitting on the edge of a river bank quietly
panning out his concentrates. This was a peaceful respite at day's
end. River flowing placidly by a slightly warmed and calm upstream
breeze, the solitude of privacy, and a serene moment within the
mountains. Then.... a curious interruption took place.
Unexpected
sounds began to enter his tired ears. Coming from down the canyon
he detected unusual sounds, distinctly familiar, yet rather mysterious.
Dave heard muffled voices mixed with the clanging of picks and
shovels, pry bars, and gold pans, yet he could see no one there!
These
were the sounds of the early 1850's Gold Seekers! Some how in
his fatigued and exhausted state, he heard echoes of a long gone
Gold Rush Encampment. Those dreamers of gold and fortune were
there right next to him while he sat panning for the same elusive
yellow metal 140 years later.
Voices
and sounds from the colorful past surrounded Dave for just a few
treasured moments. Some how a connection was made. Without any
logical explanation, a merging of the historical past with the
present transpired. Those distinctly familiar, yet mysterious
sounds gave birth to a syncronicity of events that have lead Dave
on a trail of many unique adventures.
Dave's
persona aka Diamondback Dave joins with Holly the burro in honor
of those 1800's prospectors who endured in their feverish search
for the elixir of life GOLD!
Oh.....
and by the way, the name Diamondback Dave came to Dave from a
series of dreams and encounters with rattlers. He has even used
his walking stick to gently relocate a few of the spiraled serpents
to afford safe passage. The rattlesnake has become an omen on
many of his prospecting journeys.
As
a seeker, Diamondback Dave has learned to follow his instincts.
Part of his life process includes a pursuit for the Inner Gold
as well as the outer ore that he digs. He believes that we all
have an Inner Gold that can be sought and mined.
Happy
Trails, Pardners!
